BlueZone Systems Announces Web-Based Sports Solution Designed to Increase Athlete Performance, Accountability, and Motivation
PRESS RELEASE
Seattle-area tech startup pivots in light of Covid-19 challenges facing sports teams and athletes and welcomes two new sports professionals to the organization.
Kirkland, WA, August 6, 2020 – BlueZone Systems, a Seattle area tech startup, who launched their initial sales productivity solution in May 2020 subsequently found that the application was advantageous for sports teams and athletes as well. With a few legacy teams already on board, coaches using the BlueZone for Sports application maintained that it’s particularly useful with the new challenges created by the Covid-19 social distancing measures. As several more teams previewed the product and confirmed functionality, momentum began to build and the company has made the strategic decision to pivot and invest in the sports version of their product.
With the Fall 2020 sports season quickly approaching, uncertainty is looming. Whether coaches are able to meet in-person with their teams or not, they need a way to keep athletes accountable, healthy, in-shape, disciplined with their training and studies, and connected with coaches, staff and teammates. BlueZone Systems for Sports offers a web-based solution designed to engage and motivate athletes through goal setting and prescribed, personalized daily activity plans. The easy-to-use, web-based app allows athletes to easily record their daily activities, giving both coaches and athletes full visibility to performance data so it’s clear who is putting in the work. For coaches, the data helps identify areas for improvement, and for players, the platform acts as a mirror to see how they’re doing, and provides a window for them to see what their teammates are achieving, driving team connectivity, camaraderie, and friendly competition.
And it’s not just about physical training plans. With BlueZone, coaches can focus on developing the full athlete by prescribing activities based on academics & community, skills development, strength & conditioning, health & nutrition, and more. Further, the application gives athletes a daily point target or score, giving athletes an opportunity to “win” every day. By encouraging intentional actions, BlueZone teams build character-based cultures and athletes make investments in themselves daily.
With the strategic decision to focus on the sports vertical, BlueZone is excited to welcome two new sports professionals to the team, Michael Carlson and Brandon Shaw. Carlson and Shaw are joining the small but growing BlueZone team as independent agents and brand ambassadors, and will bring BlueZone to the sports world across North America.
A pacific northwest native, Michael Carlson grew up a multi-sport athlete and played defensive back and special teams for UCLA football. Carlson’s athletic background combined with high-tech sales experience at Avvo and ExtraHop brings a wealth of knowledge and connections to the BlueZone Team. “When I first saw BlueZone in action, I knew it would be an incredible tool to help teams and athletes achieve their goals and maximize their potential,” says Carlson. “I’m excited to join the BlueZone team to help spread the word about this powerful platform.”
From farther north, BlueZone welcomes Brandon Shaw, a hockey professional from Ontario, Canada. With several years’ experience scouting and coaching, Shaw will focus his expertise with BlueZone in the hockey arena. When not selling BlueZone solutions, Shaw keeps busy as Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development at Alberni Valley Bulldogs BCHL where he uses BlueZone on a daily basis, and as Founder and Head Instructor at Process Hockey, where he works with players from the NHL, AHL, European Pro, ECHL, NCAA, USports, CHL, USHL, Canadians Jr A, and more.
As BlueZone continues its foray into the world of sports, they’ve announced a live webcast on August 11, 2020: BlueZone Systems for Sports – Drive athlete performance, accountability, and motivation. The webcast will highlight important benefits including the ability to build a championship team culture, placing a premium on both results and relationships, and on inspiring confident, tough-minded, fearless competitors who strive for excellence every day. Webcast attendees will also get a glimpse of the web-based application in action with a full demonstration of key functionalities.
“The recent momentum and interest we’ve received in the sports vertical is tremendous,” says Rob Griebel, President & Co-Founder of BlueZone Systems. “We’re excited to help coaches and athletes stay connected and motivated during this unwonted season of quarantine, while activating habits of individual and team development, and promoting championship cultures of transparency, trust, and improvement.”
